#Reading Journals: August 23rd, 2019

Hello, bookworms!
It’s been quite a while since I last posted in this category, but how have you been doing?
Here’s another #Reading Journals post coming for you 🙂

According to WordPress, my last #Reading Journals post dates back to July 26th (or the 27th). Oh, my. Has it been that long??? Where has time gone?
Anyways, let me get you up to speed on my progress since my last WWW Wednesday post.

As most of you (hopefully) know, I finished this book on Wednesday night, barely in time for my blog tour post.
I was not quite sure if I would get to write a review because I had been behind my reading schedule, but where there’s a will, there’s a way as the saying goes and I miraculously got to finish the book AND write the review, yay!

If you haven’t read this book already, you’re absolutely missing out!
Read my thoughts and if that interests you, get the book! This series totally deliver!
Song for a Lost Kingdom Book Two

I picked up this book yesterday and am currently 64% in the book.

I know I did mention exactly the same thing in my other post, but the first couple chapters didn’t pull me in as strongly as I would have liked and I was unsure if this book was a meh read.

Now, a bit over 60%, I take back what I’ve just said. While there are still parts that don’t add up to me or sink in on me, I find this book gripping and cunningly murky, muddled read, all in a positive way.
I can definitely tell lies and secrets abound but I just can’t put my finger on them. I just don’t know exactly what bothers me, but it just doesn’t feel right whereas everyone else but Chris accepts everything “the perfect stranger” does with open arms.

What the heck is this? Don’t they even feel it’s strange???

I literally keep shaking my head and frankly, I’m effing irked by the whole thing. (once again, in a good way!)

August has been a crazy, busy month and it totally disrupted my reading schedule. It opened up with a least expected last-minute business trip to Tokyo and I spent nearly a week there.

Only a week to catch up with my reading and then I drove back to my hometown for the Obon Holiday to spend some quality time with my family.
I did get to read much more than I had thought while I was away, but there comes another trip; a meet up with my bookish friends in Osaka this time!

3 trips in a month. Crazy! lol

Because of this, I’m probably going to be pretty quiet while I am away this weekend. I think I get to prepare my review for Perfect Stranger ready for Monday or Tuesday (at the very latest), but forgive me if I didn’t pop up during the weekend. I’ll be back on Monday for sure!

That’s about it for today.
How about you? How’s your reading coming along? Feel free to comment below!

Thank you so much for reading as always, and I’ll see you in my next post!
