24-Hour Readathon Wrap-Up

Hello, bookworms! As you might already know, I hosted the September round of  24-Hour Readathon with Lili@Lili’s Blissful Pages from Friday 8 pm. to Saturday 8 pm!

I tweeted my progress on Twitter so some of you may probably know this already, but let’s recap how I did during the readathon!

First, let’s take a look at the books I read/finished 🙂

Reading Progress

8:00 pm, Friday

I’ve been running a mini-series on Twitter where I share the books I want to re-read with my Japanese readers or want-to-be-readers to promote the love of books and I picked up this book a couple of hours prior to the readathon. This book had been on my mind ever since so it was only natural that I picked up this one as my first read.

8:43 pm,  Friday

As I mentioned in my review, this book gave me so many feels and opinions. The writing is quite vivid and descriptive to the extent it’s disturbing and upsetting.

See? You can tell how upset and frustrated I was… I was literally gritting my teeth, clenching my fist in anger.

10:12 pm, Friday

A bit over 2 hours into the readathon, I finished The Happy Prince and Other Stories. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

10:45 pm, Friday

Before moving on to the next book, I had to make some coffee to keep me going! I just needed some jolt of caffeine.

01:16 am, Saturday

Reading about 10 to 15 pages, I got so sleepy. I decided to take some nap which was supposed to be for 15 minutes but I ended up oversleeping as usual and I resumed reading around 00:40 am.

8:09 am, Saturday

Carrie didn’t strike me as much as I would have liked, so I decided to put it aside and pick up The Bone Collector instead.

09:48 am, Saturday

10:15 am, Saturday

I got so hungry, so I finally tried this sweet potato scone that I got from Seven Eleven. It was much like sweet potato than I imagined!

11:00 am, Saturday

The last couple of days were actually pretty eventful; one of the legs of my couch finally gave out, it was literally on its last legs! Not only did I have to fork over my good-earned money for an unexpected purchase,  I had some trouble getting rid of my old couch!

Anyways, doesn’t my new couch look nice and cozy? I’m loving it sooo much.
Don’t worry, I put it together while listening to an audiobook.

00:13 pm, Saturday

Yup, this one.

2:47 pm, Saturday

I finished the cozy mystery I was listening, and then picked up The Bone Collector again.

6:08 pm, Saturday

8:00 pm, Saturday

I kept reading until the very last moment and I reached the 53% mark in The Bone Collector. Then, I called it a day.

Books finished : 2 books

Pages read: 662 pages

Given that I had a good 7 to 8 hour sleep (wait, a bit more taking the power nap into account…), I think I did well! I am glad all my reads are the good ones!

Thank you for dropping by for this Readathon post, and many thanks go to Lili and all the participants in our readathon!!  As Lili mentioned in her post, we plan on holding this readathon at the last weekend every month. So, keep your eyes peeled for the next announcement and join us next time ❤

Thank you for reading as always, and I’ll see you in my next post!

  1. Well done Nori. thanks again for reading with me. And the books you finished, i might buy them for covers alone. They’re pretty. I’m excited for next month because our readathon also means the next it’s December. And i love December so much.
