WWW Wednesday: May 30th, 2018

Hello, friends! How’s your reading coming along? It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words.
To participate, just answer the three questions below and link back to her or put the link to your post in the comment section of her blog so that others can look at your answers!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Now onto this week’s 3Ws…

As you can see, I have given up on The Passage at least for now. Instead, I have been reading those three books. Sunrise at Butterfly Cove is actually an audiobook and while I admit the prose is beautiful, I also find the writing a bit too embellished and poetic, not very suitable for an audiobook especially when you are doing something while listening. I had to rewind more than once… but the plot thickens and I finally got into it. I’m curious to know how it goes down.

As for 11/22/63, believe it or not, this is my very first Stephen King. (Yes, surprising, I know) Although I’m reading it at an awfully slow pace, I find the plot is engrossing and once I pick it up, it’s hard to put it down. But geez, it is bulky with close to 900 page count… lol

Finally, Lost Moon by Jim Lovell. I once DNFed this book probably last summer but I’m willing to finish this one no matter how long it might take. The tale of Apollo 13 and the frantic efforts made by the Mission Controllers to bring the crew back down to earth always fascinate me and I’m dying to read this one to get a deeper insight into what it was like.

I finished these books last week.

The Hobbit

The winner of the week is definitely The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. This book fascinated me and made me eager to read LOTR this summer!

I think I’ll continue to be plugging away at Lots Moon and 11/22/63,  but once I’m finished with Sunrise at Butterfly Cove, I think I’ll read either of these two books.

It’s been quite a while I got Freshwater from NetGalley but I had totally forgotten about it! (Oh, boy). So my first choice will most likely to be Freshwater to raise my Feedback rate!
For being an international reader (also living outside the US/UK) in addition to me being a fledgling book blogger, it is akin to throwing the dice to request books from NetGalley. But surprisingly, I recently had my three requests for cozy mystery books all approved!
I literally did a happy dance lol

That’s it for today.
What are the books that you’re currently reading?
Have you finished any books recently? What books are you planning to read next?
Comment below and let me know!

Thank you so much for dropping by as always and I’ll see you all in my next post! πŸ˜‰

  1. So awesome you enjoyed The Hobbit that much! I’ve yet to read it as well, haha.
I’ll have to do it soon-ish because my sister-in-law has been getting on my case for not having read her Christmas gift yet – which were the LOTR-books. Oops..

    • Me, too! The Hobbit was entertaining and easy enough to get through because it’s children literature, but LOTR is high fantasy… I’m not sure if I can get them through lol

  2. Like you, I can’t keep up with complicated audio books and end up relistening if my mind can’t stay with it. I hope you enjoy LOTR as much! I think you will. ❀ We loved both. Glad your week is going well! 😁
