Award: The Sunshine Blogger #3

Hello, friends!! I know I’ve really been bad at catching up with tags and awards, but here’s another award post!
Thank you, Nina@The Cozy Pages for nominating me for The Sunshine Blogger Award!
This is my third nomination and I am so glad and blessed to know someone in this blogging community care about me when choosing their nominees 😀
If you haven’t already, Nina’s blog is something you want to check out. Her blog is full of fun contents and I adore her blog design!!

1. Write about it on your blog and thank the person who nominated you (Do tag him/her). Write about their blog too.
2. Display the award on your blog.
3. Nominate 5 – 10 people.
4. Let the nominees know that you’ve nominated them by linking to a post.

What’s the favourite book cover on your e-reader right now?

Oh, wow, tough question right off the bat! In fact, I am really particular and fastidious about book covers. I do a lot of cover-buying  so this is hard to choose…
Before I get into the nitty-gritty of the answer to this, let me explain a bit of the background; I used to buy Kindle books from Amazon Japan but recently, ever since I started listening to audiobooks I started buying Kindle books from U.S. Amazon in a bid to enjoy the Whispersync function. So currently I have way fewer books on my Kindle which is linked to my US Amazon account and I’ll pick my favorite from my US Amazon contents.

My long-winded answer is, my favorite covers are these two:

Although I love the cover of The Fault in Our Stars, I didn’t enjoy the book itself. I remember feeling a bit underwhelmed and I didn’t cry as hard. But I think I will re-read it again to see if I feel any different about this book. As for The Status of All Things, I love this festive vibe! The premise sounds like a typical Chick-lit book, but I will definitely read it sometime this year 🙂

Where was the last place you went for a vacation?

Okinawa, the southernmost island of Japan. I went there to visit my friend whom I haven’t seen like for ages!
Here are some pics that I took in Okinawa;

I made a huge blunder during my trip, by the way.
I am, in general, easily get hot and prefer cold winters to muggy summers. Okinawa, where my friend resides, is the hottest place in Japan. The temp there was like 22 to 23 Celsius (71.6 to 73.4 Fahrenheit) when I visited her. In fact, it was awfully chilly and cold on the day I left so I wore a knit one-pieced dress and a trench coat rather than a heavy winter coat.
Nonetheless, the moment I stepped off the plane, I knew it was much hotter than where I’m living. The heat was definitely radiating from outside. It was a bit muggy, hot. And it slowly dawned on me that I should have brought lighter clothes.

To make the matter worse, the air-con was not even on at many places; which seems to be a known fact according to my friend, so she laughed her head off seeing me getting hot.
As you can guess, I had to go on a hunt for some lighter clothes like jerseys and button-down shirts which ended up eating up a lot of my space in my suitcase lol

But guys, the views were spectacular as you can see in the pics! The food was also good, I got to do a lot of catching up with my friend, 3 days was certainly not long enough to fill in the gap, but we had a fabulous time. It’s been a bit over a week since I came back here and I already miss her a lot.

What /where is the setting of any of your current reads?

Oh, my gosh. I’m currently juggling three books and the settings are different and to be perfectly honest, I don’t even know how to explain lol
Let’s just say one of the books is set on a mysterious (ambiguous) setting which may or may not be sci-fi based, that’s the best I can at the moment (plus, I’m only halfway through the book, so I don’t know a lot about this book lol).

(and I’m talking about this book)

What’s your favorite color(s)?

Easy question – pink, obviously! If it’s pearly, even better.
Every time I stumble upon pinkish items with some glitters or something, I end up getting them failing to resist my strong urge lol

If you won £10,000 what would be the first thing you’d buy?

Probably I wouldn’t buy anything, but wait, I might buy some tickets for overseas trips to visit my blogging friends 😉  I’ve only been to London, Singapore and Guam (Yikes, only three places!!), so I would buy the experience that I can only get outside my country. (Sounds corny, I know.)

What’s for dinner tonight?

I am in the mood for some sandwiches at the moment, so I’ll probably fix some grilled ham & cheese sandwiches and a salad.

Are you going to answer and publish this post right away or answer and schedule?

I’ve been writing this post over the span of 3 days as of now, like taking one question a day lol
But yes, as soon as I’m done with answering the questions and tagging my friends, I will publish this immediately 🙂  To tell the truth, I’m never be a ‘plan-everything-ahead’ type, I’m more like a ‘cross that bridge when I get to it’ kind of type. So, I tend to do things as they come along lol

I’ve got to know a lot of wonderful bloggers and made new friends since my last award post, so I will nominate bloggers who I deem deserve recognition!

Amberry@Amberry Books
Carhicks@Carla Loves to Read
Lili@Lili’s Blissful Pages
Norrie@Reading Under The Blankie
Rebecca@Mylife as a Sports Fangirl

But to me, all of you are so special, so if you want to answer the questions I listed below, GO FOR IT!! I love to read your answers!!

All right. This is the hardest part for me, coming up with questions to ask…. pardon my lack of creativity!! lol

  1. If you could use magic (only one), what would that be and why?
  2. If you could live in a fictional world, what would that be and why?
  3. What is the drink of your choice when reading?
  4. Name the place you really want to visit right now.
  5. Name the moment you want to cherish throughout your life (if you don’t mind sharing with us, that is).
  6. What is your biggest bookish pet peeve?
  7. Tell me your favorite/least favorite book genre.
  8. What is your recent milestone? (it doesn’t have to be blog-related)
  9. Tell us a bit about yourself! (We really want to get to know YOU!)
  10. What are your passions in life?

That’s it, we’ve made it.
Thank you so much again for the nomination, Nina! It’s been fun answering those questions!
More than anything, many thanks go to my dear readers – I really appreciate your support and all the likes and comments, and the time you have taken to interact with me 🙂  Thank you so, so much ❤

  1. Thanks for the nomination Noriko. I will try to do this later today. I am holed up in the condo with a terrible cold, sore throat etc. so I should have a lot of time. It was interesting to read your answers. I hope mine are interesting as well.

  3. OMG, thank You Noriko… :):) I really appreciate this award. 🙂

About your answers: I did love TFIOS, but yeah I didn’t cry as well. And btw, I’m in minority here but I’m not a fan of John Green’s books. 🙂
If I win such big money, I’ll do the same.. I really, really want to travel but if I start travelling I want it to be continuous, like from country to country, so Im waiting until I have more than enough budget for it. Also I dont have plans of marrying so I don’t worry much about travelling. i know I will always have the time, if only I have the budget. LOL.

Thanks again Noriko.. I’m sure Im gonna enjoy answering your questions. 🙂

Meeting up with other bloggers would be a fantastic experience… if only I actually won such a big sum of money!! (But I don’t buy lotteries… duh.)

      • Yeah me too.. I don’t buy lotteries… Hahaha…
Imagine what bloggers will do upon meeting.. It would be fun to hang out with them, maybe in libraries or bookstores.. Then in a coffee shop… Sound simple but with book bloggers that would be fun.. 🙂

    • You’re welcome, Norrie! Oh, yes. The text on your blog is pink! Hahaha! But believe it or not, I didn’t like pink at all when I was little according to my mom! She said I preferred green to pink lol
