WWW Wednesday: February 21st, 2018

Hello, friends! How’s your reading coming along? It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words.
To participate, just answer the three questions below and link back to her or put the link to your post in the comment section of her blog so that others can look at your answers!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Now, here are my 3Ws…

The Well of Ascension by Branson Sanderson and Commonwealth by Ann Patchett.

It took me a while to get into Commonwealth, but I think it finally grew on me and I am now appreciating her very atmospheric writing and the deep, introspective character observations.
I’ve mainly been listening to the audiobook thus I must admit there are parts that I could have missed out (hence the time I took to get reeled into the story), but I’m liking it now. I am looking to finishing it tonight πŸ™‚

As for The Well of Ascension, I’m enjoying it so much! Again, I am listening to the audiobook while physically reading the book and it’s helping me better appreciate this book. The narrator, Michael Kremer is simply AWESOME.  He brilliantly performs different characters by changing the intonation, inflection and such, making them distinct even when I’m solely listening to the audiobook. If you are interested, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook, too!

As far as I’m concerned, this book is more character- driven than the previous one. The focus of this book is more on its characters and the bonds between them, there are moments that tug at my heartstrings. I’m currently 76% into the book and I can vouch that I will have an awful a lot to say when I finish the book πŸ™‚

None, sadly lol

As you guys might know, I was away for my Okinawa trip to meet up with my friend last weekend and despite all the fuss that I made over The Well of Ascension (for more, click here), I didn’t get to finish any book. So, I’m still juggling the two books that I mentioned above.

I’m buddy-reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro with Silvia Kay starting this Sunday, and I will also be listening to The Player, the second book in The Wedding Pact series by Denis Grover Swank once I’ve finished with Commonwealth.
In addition to that, I am going to read The Usurper King by Zeb Haradon that I got in exchange for my honest review.

That’s it for today.
What about you?
What are the books that you’re currently reading?
Have you finished any books recently? What books are you planning to read next?
Comment below and let me know!

Thank you so much for dropping by as always and I’ll see you all in my next post! πŸ˜‰

View from Kouri Ocean Tower in Okinawa; isn’t it breathtaking??

  1. Karen says:

I’m interested in what you’ll think of Never Let Me Go. I read it years ago.

I’m currently reading The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde for now. I’m in a slump.

The view is gorgeous! Maybe I should spend time by the ocean in Japan πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Karen! This is going to be my very first Kazuo Ishiguro, so I am curious to see if it’s any good! πŸ˜‰ (you know, there’s a lot of hype going around since he won the Nobel prize in literature last year…)

  2. Hiiii! It’s been a while since I’ve seenyour posts! How have you been?
    How was your trip?
Never Let You Go is such a difficult book to get into!! I still have read only a quarter of it. And that was like last year lol
