WWW Wednesday: November 22nd, 2017

Hello, friends! It’s awfully cold today, how have you been doing lately? It’s time for another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam@Taking on a World of Words.
To participate, just answer the three questions below and link back to her or put the link to your post in the comment section of her blog so that others can look at your answers!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Now, here are my 3Ws…

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen and 180 Seconds by Jessica Park.
I’m loving them both SO MUCH!! I’ve seen the movie ‘Sense and Sensibility’ so many times, but I found the book is way better than the movie; well, it’s nothing new, I always prefer books better than movie adaptations due to the fact that I can get a better insight into characters’ emotions and their perspectives. This is my second Austen book after Pride and Prejudice, and I have to say I like Sense and Sensibility much better than P&P. To be honest, I never had such a strong attachment to P&P, I’ve always preferred S&S even for the movie adaptation. (That might come from the fact I don’t particularly appreciate Keira Knightley, haha!)  I love how strikingly different Elinor and Marianne are in their dispositions and how vividly and articulately the difference is delineated by Austen’s writing. The wicked sense of humor is definitely felt. I never recognize how hilarious and positively acerbic Austen is which surprised me in a pleasant way 🙂

As for 180 Seconds, I picked up this book after giving up on Julie Stock’s debut novel. I recently reviewed her latest novel, and I thought I would give her book another try because it was on Kindle Unlimited. But alas, the ‘rushed’ feeling that I got from ‘The Vineyard in Alsace’ was even stronger in her debut novel (well, no wonder). I DNFed the book and picked up ‘180 Seconds.’
Wow, this book pulled me in right off the bat, right from Chapter 1!! The lovely Misty@mistybookspace mentioned this book got her on an emotional roller coaster and I have to agree with her – THIS IS EMOTIONALLY EVOCATIVE and gripping! And oh, my. Would I ever imagine what a mere 3minute experiment can actually do to you – I should have read this book sooner than I actually did; forget all the books that I mentioned in my Falltime Cozy Time Book Tag – this is the book gives me the warm fuzzies and frenzy. My heart is literally pounding when Allison and Esben are being together.  I’m only  30 % into the book at the moment, but I am curious to know where this book take me!

The Vineyard in Alsace by Julie Stock.  I enjoyed reading this on the whole, but as I explained in my review, the pacing and the writing is my biggest issue with this book. The plot is interesting and this is no wonder a feel-good book which put a smile on the face at the end, this actually has a place in my heart, but I don’t think I’ll see this book as my favorite 😦  But once again, this is a heart-warming contemporary romance with some snippets of life in a vineyard.

The Vineyard in Alsace

I never seem to be able to stick to my TBR, do I? I mentioned I would read either Sweetbitter or Paradise in my last WWW Wednesday post, but I ended up picking up a different book 😦
In addition to this, I think it’s going to take a lot longer to finish S&S. So I have no idea what I’ll pick up next at the moment.  The prospective candidates are:

Out of 3 books, two of them are on Kindle Unlimited which means I need to read as quickly as possible so that I get to pick up many more books from KU. Let’s see how it turns out!

That’s it for today.
What are the books that you’re currently reading?
Have you finished any books recently? What books are you planning to read next?
Let me know in the comments below so that we can have some fun chatting about books!

Thank you so much for reading as always and I’ll see you all in my next post! 😉

  1. I’m reading a few different books right now, but still need to get caught up on Netgalley. Just finished Watching Glass Shatter and I think I’ll read The Wife Between Us and then some Christmas reads!

It’s awesome that you’re loving Jane Austen so much! ❤😽

    • Thank you, Mischenko ❤ Yes, I'm loving Jane Austen soooo much!! It's totally unexpected because I didn't love P&P much haha! I love Sense and Sensibility. It's more complex and really emotional. Love it ❤

  2. AJ says:

I love S&S but I love P&P even more! I don’t think you should make a judgement about P&P based on the Keira Knightley version- watch the A&E one with Colin Firth and then decide:)

  3. Yay I am so glad you are loving 180 Seconds!! I have only read one Jane Austen book and that was Persuasion. I tried to read P&P but I DNFed but I do plan to try reading it again. I am currently reading 3 different books and I just finished November 9 which was another book where I was on an emotional roller coaster.
