Thank you so much, Jo-Ann@Inspiration Pie for nominating me for this ‘Real Neat Blog’ award!
I’ve really started to sound like a broken record, but I cannot believe the number of awards that I have received in the last couple of months!
Jo-Ann and I met about a month ago and she has been so nice and sweet since our first meet 🙂
Thank you so, so much once again for even thinking of me!
If you haven’t already, go hurry over to Jo-Ann’s blog! She’s just come back from her vacation, you get to see wonderful, awesome pics there! Plus, do enjoy her relaxing, soothing ‘Daily Walk’ posts; they will definitely make you feel like taking a walk with her! I love that segment!!
Okay, the rules for sharing the Real Neat Blog Award:
Rules:
- Display the award logo on your blog.
- Thank the folks who nominated you and provide links to their blogs.
- Answer the seven questions asked by your nominator(s).
- Nominate any number of other bloggers to share the award and give them some linky love.
- Notify the nominated folk.
- Ask your nominees seven questions of your own.
Questions from Jo-Ann:
1. What is your favorite genre?
I’m not completely sure about genres and I don’t know if I can accurately pigeonhole a book into a certain genre. So, I would say books like The Pillars of the Earth! I know you’re getting sick of me coming back to this book over and over and over again, but I cannot help it.
Yes, you are AWESOME!!
2. What is the last book you read that you gave 5 Stars and what did you love about it?
I’m pretty close to finishing The Pillars and I’m certain that I’ll give this book hands down 5 stars, but let’s leave it aside for now and talk about Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.
What I love the most about the book is the emotional connection that I had with this book. This book is incredibly visceral, gut-wrenching, heart-ripping, downright sad. I really love and appreciate how emotionally engaging this book is. I also appreciate how this book deals with some serious subject matters such as life, respect (of life) and dignity. I am so glad this book didn’t end up being another Chick-Lit which heavily focuses on romance and perfunctorily touches (or passes off touching) such issues. Light, fluffy, happy-go-lucky romance books are all well and good, I do want to read them every now and then, but those books tend to leave a much smaller impact on me. I love books that emotionally wreck me and shatter me. Weird as it might sound, but that’s true.
3. Who is your favorite author?
Ken Follett! I’ve only read one book from him, but I think he is a master of storytelling. it surely takes plenty of skills and creativity to keep the readers engaged and entertained throughout the book as thick and big as The Pillars of the Earth.
4. What keeps you from attaining your goals?
Life. There are times when things which are beyond your control get in the way. You have to ride it out and let nature run its course in such situations.
5. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Does it sound shallow if I say I don’t have any specific life goals and objectives?? Honestly, I don’t. I have no idea where I’ll be in five years. I will simply live each day doing what I really love and I’m passionate about. If that leads me to a happier life, that’ll be great.
6. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
Interactions that I get to have with my friends and readers 🙂 Writing book reviews and coming up with ideas can be pretty tough and daunting at times, but whenever I receive positive responses and sweet comments, they’ll make me extremely happy. I’ll be like, ‘life is good.’ Seriously.
7. How do you start off your morning?
As soon as the alarm on my iPhone goes off, I go straight to WordPress and check all the comments and likes to catch up with them. (at this point, I’m still in bed.)
About 5 to 10 minutes later, I peel myself off my bed, switch on my PC, check Twitter/Goodreads and e-mail.
When I’m done, I pick up my Kindle and do some reading for the next 30 to 1 hour and then I wash my face, put on a makeup and do my hair while watching some YouTube videos. Then I fix my breakfast which usually consists of a piece of toast and a yogurt bowl topped with some fruits (mostly bananas) plus coffee, squeeze some reading again, and then I get ready and leave for work.

My questions to the nominees: (some my own, some from Jo-Ann)
1. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
2. How long have you been blogging?
3. What do you love most about blogging?
4. Who is your favorite author?
5. What keeps you from attaining goals?
6. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
7. What quality do you look for a friend? What about them attracts you the most?
That’s it! We’ve made it.
Thank you all so much once again- this award and recognition have been brought by your continuous support!
Hope you enjoyed reading this and I’ll see you in my next post!

Congrats on the award! 😊 I’m trying to catch up on some awards now and JoAnn tagged me for this one too 😊 I’m trying to space them all out, lol. I think we need to find you more Ken Follett books to read 😊

You have World Without End lined up after Pillars of the Earth? Or soon after? It’s even better 🙂

Yes, I do! And I’m also buying A Column of Fire that’s coming out this September, too!!

Oh, good! I just asked for it as an ARC so we’ll see!! I’ll probably buy it too since it takes place in Elizabethan England and that’s my favorite period in history. I love books with Queen Elizabeth I in it, so I’m happy about that ❤❤

I hope you can get the ARC! I’ve already ordered World Without End at Book Depository and am waiting for its delivery. I’m reading it next month. Then, I’m definitely buying A Column of Fire in September and read it like ASAP!

Thank you! I hope I do too! I have World Without End! Too bad we can’t swap books!!!

No, no. That’s fine 🙂 Even if I borrow a book from someone, once I love the book, I NEED TO OWN IT anyway! lol

Thanks for nominating me!! And I love the questions you asked! Also, your morning routine sounds amazing. Do you wake up early to do all that, or do you have a job that starts later in the day?
LikeLiked by 1 person
My pleasure, Steph! You totally deserve the award!! In answer to your question, I do wake up early in the morning, probably an hour earlier to squeeze some reading… 🙂 I used to get up at 6 am but now I get up before 5 am, sometimes even earlier.

I do the same thing!! I’m not a morning person and waking up around 5:30/6 is painful, but going to work without reading just seems unbearable. I need it to get myself motivated and ease myself into the day instead of just waking up and going straight to work.

I know!! Besides, I tend get drowsy at night lately, I cannot get much reading done. I get read much more in the morning✨😊

I do love to read at night, but I save that for the weekends (if I can even make myself stay up late on those days, lol).

Noriko, thank you for the sweet intro! I loved reading your answers 🙂 I haven’t read any Ken Follett but I’ve been hearing his name around lately, he has some diehard fans! I must have a look at his books 🙂
